I moved from Britain to Pasadena in October, and I'm interested in joining a running club. I don't really know many people yet, and I think this would be a good way to get to know people.
I did a fair bit of running before, but at the end of May I damaged the ligaments in my foot doing the Great Manchester Run (it's a 10k race around Manchester, great fun, but it rained *all the way round*!) so I haven't done anything since then. That was pretty much the last proper running I've done, apart from the odd half hour here and there.
I've never been part of a running club before, I've always gone by myself, so I'm not really sure what to expect. I mean, would it be appropriate for me to join you (if you'll have me!), seeing as I haven't run properly for so long? I'm really disappointed with myself over that actually. On the day I did the 10k in just over an hour, the fastest I've ever done it, but then couldn't walk for 2 weeks. Weird thing was it didn't hurt till I stopped running. Anyway, the Dr. told me to try to keep off it, so I did, but then life took over and I've not run for 6 months. Sorry, I'm waffling
Anyway, is the Pasadena group suitable for someone like me? My foot is healed now, I'm just worried I'll be a bit rubbish because it's been so long.
