The Disneyland Half Marathon on Sept. 5th has been sold out for awhile, but A Snail's Pace purchase a block of entries for our Training Program people and have some left over we are selling at cost.
If you want to run Disney contact me ASAP because I have an August 1st deadline. Entry fee is $165 and includes all day park pass ($72).

Missed a few Posts of our Tu. night track work outs, oh well, maybe catch up on them @ meetup.com/snailsfountainvalley/ if you like. This past Tu. we ran 800, 400, 200, 200, 3 sets, with ~ "same time recovery jog walk rest between each effort, meaning if an 800 was run in ~3:00 then ~ 3:00 jog/walk until starting the 400, ~90sec recovery, 200, ~:45sec, 200, :45 recovery, then back to 800, 400, 200, 200, then again, followed by a cool down jog & a bit of a stretch for a few. 17 in our Snails group, quick fun,

San Francisco 1st Half Marathon Bib

Hello,

I have injured my ankle & won't be able to run in the race this weekend. If anyone will be in the SF area and wants to buy my Bib for $100 (includes bib, chip, & men's Medium technical race shirt) please let me know. You can contact me at the Fountain Valley store through Thursday. I will head up to SF on Friday & pick up the bib from the Expo on Friday.

The Bib is for wave # 3 which starts at 6:42am. Starts at the old Ferry Building and finishes in Golden Gate Park. From the finish, there is a shuttle provided back to the start.

The City of Laguna Hills Memorial Day Half Marathon, 5K and Kids Run on Monday, May 31 needs volunteers. If you have been running events for years and you are ready to give back this is your chance. You can volunteer yourself, bring your family or bring a group. We have positions open from water stations to registration. Please help support your fellow participants by volunteering.

Bev talked about getting the Snail's Canopy and helping with the recruiting and sign up. Unfortunately, I will be in Portland, OR at a bug Symposium from this Sunday afternoon until Wednesday night so can't help much with the organizing.

Mike wants to walk/run on Saturday morning from the opening until noon and Nick would have to participate on Saturday. We need at least one person on the track at any given time. Some of us will be at the Ekiden on Sunday AM. All these folks need to be contacted to confirm time slots.

Presented by the Estancia High School Cross Country & Track Teams in conjunction with the Orange County Track Club.

The Course & Awards: Scenic dirt trails winding through Fairview Park. Medals will be given to the top 3 finishers in each age/sex division. A 1k kids "fun run" will also be held(12 & under) @ 9a.

We have arranged for a new race to be part of our Snails Cup Race Series. The Say No to Drugs Half Marathon/10k/5k at the Rose Bowl on Sept 25th! It appears the Half Marathon race course will be similar to the Rose Bowl Half Marathon.

Registration is very reasonable, and we are arranging discounts. It will be around $50 for the half and $25 for the 10k/5k, which is one of the least expensive races in the area. (take that Walt Disney with your $125 registration fees).

American Heroes 10K and Family Fun Run - Los Angeles County Sheriff's Academy (STARS)- Whittier

Help us, Help others....... On Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the STAR Center the Commercial Crimes Bureau and Military Activation Committee will host the "American Heroes 10K and Family Fun Run." The event honors the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces and Public Safety Members. Proceeds from the run will benefit the many programs and services for military families served by the Military Activation Committee (M.A.C.), Abused and neglected children of Los Angeles County through the 999 Foundation, Local schools and the CCB Unit Employee Fund.

The Event will have both a 10K (6.2miles) and 3k (1.86miles) and host guided tours of the sheriffs museum, food, live music provided by a world renowned Smiths/Morrissey cover band and both public safety and military static displays. We expect to have approximately 500 participants.

Online registration for the 10K is $20 if completed by this Friday, May 7 or $25 if completed by Tuesday, May 11 and can be accomplished through either of the attached links:
